ThinkUKnow student presentation (Foundation to Year 12) 

ThinkUKnow offers free presentations for students from Foundation through to Year 12. Delivered by state/territory police, our presentations align with the Australian Curriculum and covers age-appropriate online safety topics. 

 

What students will learn 🧠 

ThinkUKnow has a total of 7 student presentations that are tailored specifically to address themes experienced by children and young people in an age-appropriate way.

Our presentations incorporate real case studies from the Australian Federal Police-led Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation. Local state or territory police deliver the presentations in partnership with the ThinkUKnow program. 

 

Bookings timeline and availability 📅 

  • We request at least six weeks' notice to arrange a presentation
  • Bookings are subject to police availability and may require rescheduling
  • If the presentation is needed in response to a specific incident, please note this in the form comments section.

Venue and organisational requirements 📋

Each jurisdiction will have its own requirements, broadly please ensure:

  • Appropriate venue: hall, classroom, library
  • Room compatible technology, such as a projector or TV screen and audio  
  • Presentation size supports greater interaction, fewer students by grade is recommended. At minimum, audience will need to be broken down by their year level groups.
  • A reliable contact person to coordinator logistics and answer communications

Once your local police member has contacted you, these requirements can be confirmed.  

 

Parent, carer and educator presentation  

We highly recommend booking both student and parents, carers and educator presentations around the same time. These complementary sessions help foster informed conversations at home and school.

What we do

We develop resources and advice for parents, carers and educators, children and young people to prevent online child sexual exploitation.

Led by the Australian Federal Police, our program includes:

What we don’t do

Our program doesn’t cover:

  • Information about general online safety, including cyberbullying
  • Information about cybercrime
